Laptop Woes

Laptops never seem to last me more than two years. I replaced the HDD on my old HP laptop several times (none lasted more than 6 months). The Lenovo Thinkpad T61 I was using died this weekend--the motherboard decided to take a dump after having repeated HDD issues in the past. After a couple of trips to costco, I walked out with:

It's really odd having a desktop after using laptops for so long. When I left desktops for laptops, a 19" LCD screen was a big deal--this whole 25" thing is really new to me, and it feels like I'm in front of a TV. The SO set everything up late last night, and I'm still getting used to it. I'm really happy about the fact that this has 6 usb ports, though! I always ran out of room on my T61. It's probably also an opportunity to upgrade to Photoshop CS4 and fork over some peanuts to Adobe. Oh, and it's got a 1TB HDD, 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, and um, some sort of quad core processor. Did I mention it has a pretty screen?

Too bad I'm at work right now (on a holiday, wth?)--I really should post up some photos from Friday night's dinner. The SO took me to Murray Circle in Sausalito. Super cute and cozy; really down to earth. And some products to review from Jelly Pong Pong. For V-Day I ordered the SO something soft and fuzzy(ish) I promised him a year back, and tided him over while the product takes 2 weeks to be made and sent over with a pair of ski gloves/mitts--it's a glove inside of a mitt, so he can keep those chubby paws warm on the slopes.

While I'm being random, and really kind of grumpy at work, there's nothing better than watching two (or more) Dobermans play. They have a really unique way of playing--very mouthy, incredibly rough, lots of play-bows, lots of wrestling, and some cuddling with face biting when they're tired. It's just cute to watch them nip at tug at each other's cheeks--we can't let Nizzy play that rough or mouthy with any other breed, but for some reasons Dobes are always down for the super rough stuff.
