Rolex Deep Sea

While I was surfing the watch forum, I came across the Rolex Deepsea.  I have never been a fan of Rolex before because I feel they have "sold out", but this watch caught my eye.  In case you have not yet noticed, I'm attracted to simple, elegant but rugged designs.

Rolex Deep Sea micro site.  The face has a very unique blue luminescence that lights up the hour and minute hands, as well as the hour markers.  Based on a quick Google search online, the watch seems to be priced around $8K, which was the same as my Panerai Black Seal.  Though for about the same price, I could have also gotten the Glashutte Original Sport Evolution with a rose gold case from Lussori.  There were only 15 total made for the Lussori at Carmel by the Sea.  I noticed they still had the watch on display on the site, which means I could probably get an even better deal than before -- maybe.  I wouldn't get the one with the rose gold bracelet, but instead the synthetic Kevlar strap with blue stitching that matches so beautifully to the face.

Source. Though the site mis-spoke when they said the price of the timepiece retails at $40,000.  That was far beyond the price that was quoted to me in the store.

Either way, these are all really nice timepieces, and hopefully soon I will be able to add them to my collection.

On the flip side, Charlize Theron wears the Rolex Deep Sea.  Decisions decisions.
