Goodies from SoCal!
In my honest opinion, I think their baked breads and buns are just "okay". Kee Wah is probably just as good. Their cakes, moon cake, and more specialized fruit tarts like the mango delight is spectacular. I would highly recommend skipping the cheap stuff and going for the more expensive goodies. There's a good reason they coat more.
It is interesting that they're so popular here. My father called it the Starbucks of Taiwan as they first started life as a coffee shop that significantly undercut Starbuck's coffee price to steal business and remain competitive.
