Top 5 Reasons you should blog vs. Social Networks

Quick little post before I sign off for the weekend.

There are a lot of reasons why social networks are beneficial, but also A LOT more reasons why a blog is superior in many aspects when compared to any of the current social networks out there (including Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, various forums etc).  Writing a blog can be like (back in the old days) writing a nasty letter to vent but never mailing it.

Here are my top 5 reasons:
  1. You can voice your opinion in as many characters as you wish
  2. You can remain anonymous, not have to worry about the every changing privacy issues, and not become the next Alexandra Wallace.  Do you really want your next employer to see crazy old colleges picture of you on Facebook or Myspace?
  3. You don't have to deal with douche bags, haters, showoffs, or $30K millionaires who thrive on forums.  You can also continue to live in your own bubble ignorant to the fact that most Americans are retards
  4. You don't have to "friend" someone you haven't seen or talked to since middle school
  5. Social networks make money by selling your personal information and content, items that you provide them for free.  Why not monetize your own blog and pocket the money?
