In another exchange leaked to Silicon Alley Insider, Zuckerberg explained to a friend that his control of Facebook gave him access to any information he wanted on any Harvard student:

And now he's got new emails showing that he screwed someone else. I have to admit, I'm starting to think that he never came up with the idea, but took an idea at its infancy and was able to leverage it into something bigger. In other words, you don't need a bright new idea to become rich. :-)
