AIM and Gtalk are now one

What happened to AIM when you log into Gtalk?

So I was logging onto Gtalk and realized that we could no longer log into AIM.  Funny.  I did some research and found out, without much fanfare, Google and AOL has decided to combine forces to fend off Facebook.  You can no longer log in separately to AIM from Gtalk because they are now one and the same.

But how do you import and transfer your friend from AIM over to Gtalk?  AOL has developed this nifty software that can just do that.  See here.

The downside is the software does not remember who you have blocked... so the fun begins again for blocking all those people you would rather not associate with.
