Golden Gate Bakery San Francisco

If you want fresh, tasty, Chinese egg custard tarts, look no further than Golden Gate Bakery.  Golden Gate Bakery is located in San Francisco on Grant, in the heart of SF Chinatown.  They have some of the best Chinese egg custards I have ever had.  There is also usually a line out the door and down the street waiting for those hot steaming custards.  I believe this is part of their secret.  Because there is so much demand for their product, they are always fresh out of the oven and steaming hot.

Don't buy too much though and try to eat them shortly after you purchase them.  If you allow them to sit, they will get soggy and lose their soft but flaky crust.
